Some of the call ins make you want to cringe. That caller that supposedly read 5 lines from some book was a waste of time and they should have just dropped him from the call.

Kaku correctly identifies that the calendar is cyclical, and thus we should associate it (2012) with a turning rather than destruction. But, he fails to recognise that apocalypse means "uncovering," not "end times" as in armageddon .

He's pretty tolerant of some wild questions!

Kaku, "to the best of your knowledge, not our knowledge. The bonobo Kanzi understands "tomorrow." And Koko the gorilla has a concept of "what happens when something dies."

coldness like hotness is energy, so I think we'd be better of if the universe keeps expanding.

Michio is the co-founder of String Theory, so he tends to wildly overstate its significance. He even claims the LHC will "test String Theory," which is absolute bullshit. He was flat out lying. His bullshit like this is why no one asks him to talk at conferences anymore. Instead, they invite several other scientists who don't overstate things or pretend everyone agrees with them.

Over 3 months and only 18k views? While some singer or airhead celeb gets a billion in the same time period? The USA is fucked in 50 years when H1B's no longer work and everyone with brains goes back home to China or India. Economy will collapse and we'll end up a 3rd world shit hole like 1960's India.

And it's 2017 now and the whole thing about wealth/ jobs/ science education and cultivating the next brightest minds is still so relevant… I know I'm those years I remember the push for science in commercials and other ads but now idk….

Put a chip in a robots brain when it gets smarter lol! Wonderful solution but if they are smarter a simple chip is not going to help anything they will work together to remove the chips from their brain knowing this likely heavily shared information well you already shared it here they would find it easily. I just think letting robots get this intelligent in general we should only allow things to be this smart without any allowed motor skills software a speaker even then some dumber systems may get smart enough to adapt the technology. I just think AI needs to be quite a bit more thought out.
